How to Remove Grass Stains From Your Outdoor Upholstery?

Do you have a beautiful garden that is your pride and joy? Do you have outdoor furniture and upholstery placed there so you and your family can enjoy a cup of coffee outdoors? Then what is ruining the picture might be all the grass stains on the upholstery. It’s inevitable – when the furniture is outdoors, it’s prone to all kinds of stains and damage so you need to be prepared and know how to deal with them.

How to Remove Grass Stains From Your Outdoor Upholstery?

Grab your vacuum cleaner and start vacuuming up all the grass and soil.

Once the surface is ready to be treated, mix a tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of cold water. Dip a cloth in the mixture and start blotting the affected area. You can also use a sponge, however, keep in mind that you shouldn’t apply too much pressure. Take it easy and be gentle so you don’t spread the stain further.

Let the mixture sit for 15 to 25 minutes then blot with a dry paper towel or cloth so you absorb the liquid.

I also recommend you rinse the area with a damp sponge so you can remove all the soapy water – after all, soap attracts dirt, and the last thing you want is to remove grass stains only for them to be replaced with dirty patches.

In case the stain still remains, you will need to use something stronger than laundry detergent – oxygen bleach, for example. Make sure you dilute the bleach with cold water first.

If you don’t have that at home, you can also use acetone. Dip a ball of cotton in the acetone and gently blot the stain. Once you are done, you don’t need to rinse the area – the acetone will evaporate leaving no trace.

How To Clean A Stone Patio With Natural Ingredients?

If you have a stone patio then you know how easily it gets dirty mainly because of all the foot traffic. I am super happy to announce that I have found an all-natural way to deep clean the stone patio – and the best part is that it’s super cheap and easy to do. You don’t need any fancy equipment or cleaners – just a few household items you already have in your home.

I guarantee that by the end of the cleaning process, your patio is going to be spotless and will look brand new!

How To Clean A Stone Patio Naturally?

First, we need to prepare the DIY cleaner. You need to grab a bucket then fill it with warm water. Then add 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda. Add a few drops of liquid dish soap then mix well.

Next, dampen a soft-bristled brush in the mixture and start scrubbing the stone patio using a circular motion.

You need to cover the entire surface. Make sure you focus on areas that are extremely dirty and apply more pressure when scrubbing them so you can really remove all the build-up.

Then, once you are finished, it’s important to rinse the patio. If you have a garden hose then it will be easier. If you don’t have one then fill a few buckets with water and rinse.

Do not skip this step because if you leave the soapy water, it will attract more impurities.

Then, let the patio air-dry. If it’s a sunny day, it will take a few hours.

You Can Use This DIY All-Purpose Cleaner To Clean Everything In Your Home!

I have always wanted to find a DIY recipe for a cleaner that is truly an all-purpose one. A cleaner I can apply on any surface in my home. Something I can use to clean my kitchen countertops, my wooden tables, my bathtub, my windows, mirrors, and even my floors.

When I first started using natural ingredients to make my own cleaners this concept seemed impossible. I was finding cleaners for different surfaces in my home but never something that can be used on everything. As time passed, I became more experienced and I even stopped following recipes I found online and I focused on experimenting.

And then, one day, I finally managed to create the best all-purpose cleaner that is safe to use on just about any surface in a home.

How To Make This Magical DIY Cleaner?

Making this cleaner is easier than you think and, to be honest – you don’t need any fancy ingredients. All you need is white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, distilled water, Castile soap, and lavender essential oil. Of course, you can use any essential oil you want. I use lavender because it has antibacterial properties. When you combine lavender oil with the rubbing alcohol and vinegar, this cleaner becomes extremely strong and can be used as a disinfectant. All dirt, dust, impurities, and germs will be removed!

Start off with filling an empty spray bottle with equal parts of vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and water. Then add 1/4 tablespoon of the Castile soap and 15 drops of the essential oil you decided to use.

Then gently shake the bottle so all ingredients can mix well… and that’s it!

Now you have made an amazing all-purpose cleaner you can use to clean and disinfect any surface in your home. I use it in every room – my kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom.

How To Clean Your Quartz Countertop Without Damaging It?

If you have quartz countertops then you know figuring out how to clean them can be very frustrating – especially if you are a fan of making your own cleaners.

A huge percentage of the DIY cleaner recipes out there contain vinegar in them, however, if you have quartz countertops you know that you need to avoid using vinegar because it will damage them… so what should you do if you still want to use natural ingredients and make your own cleaners? What to use that will be safe and won’t cause damage to your beautiful countertop?

Here how to clean them!

– Use Rubbing Alcohol

One of my favourite recipes contains 2 parts rubbing alcohol, 2 parts water, and a few drops of any essential oil (I love using lemon). This is a gentle cleaner that will also disinfect the surface – and we all want that!

– Use Liquid Soap

Apply this when you spill something! Simply mix water and liquid soap, dampen a cloth in the soapy water then wipe your countertops.

– Use A Glass Cleaner

Chances are you have a commercial glass cleaner somewhere in your home – so use it! You can safely clean your quartz countertops with a glass cleaner!

– Use Baking Soda

For stubborn stains, I recommend you to use baking soda – a gentle ingredient that won’t damage or scratch your countertops.

Simply create a paste with baking soda and a bit of water. Grab a small brush (I suggest you use an old toothbrush), apply some of the paste on the stained area then scrub for a few minutes.

5 Cleaning Products You Should Avoid Using If You Have A Dog

If you have a pet than finding cleaning products that are effective will be even harder because most of the ones you can buy from the store are actually bad for the health of your dog.

You probably haven’t realized this, however, I wanted to give you a list of all products you need to avoid!

As you probably know your dog has a much more sensitive sense of smell than you which means that using such harsh chemicals like bleach can be bad for their health.

I would suggest you avoid using bleach, however, if you must clean something with it make sure your dog is in another room.

Many commercial cleaners that are meant to remove grime and germs contain ammonia – an ingredient which can be dangerous for your dog.

So before you buy a new cleaner make sure you check the ingredients first!

Oven Cleaners

Usually, oven cleaners can be harmful to your dog due to the ingredients it contains.

This is why I would recommend you ditch the commercial products and start making your own oven cleaners! Not only will your dog thank you but you will also save some money by following some DIY recipes containing natural ingredients!

Toilet Bowl Cleaners

Toilet bowl cleaners are made with bleach which as I previously stated is pretty harmful to pets.

Some negative effects that it might have include vomiting and poor orientation. Similar to the oven cleaner, I suggest you make your toilet bowl cleaner using natural ingredients.

Counter Cleaners

Another very important product for the cleanliness of your home which is harmful to your dog is the counter cleaner.

Unfortunately, even if you think that this cleaner won’t get in contact with your dog – it will! If the cleaner is with a spray bottle that means that the product you spray can travel through the air and land in the food or water bowl of your pet.

A great alternative is to use vinegar. It’s the perfect all-purpose cleaner!

Learn how to easily clean your grill!

Cleaning your grill is probably one of the chores you are neglecting the most. Unfortunately, the more you postpone it the dirtier it will get which means one thing – you will need to spend a lot of time cleaning it. Not only will it become this time-consuming chore but you increase your chances of getting food poisoning due to the germs (a dirty grill is a breeding ground for bacteria).

Deep cleaning your grill is very important and you need to make it a priority of yours. I will tell you exactly how I deep clean mine!

So how can you deep clean your grill?

Let’s start off with everything you need – rubber gloves, a grill brush, a plastic knife, a kitchen sponge, microfiber towels, dish soap, paper towels, avocado oil, and 2 buckets!

I know it may look like you need a lot of things but let’s be honest – all you need for the actual cleaning is dish soap and avocado oil, the other things are just cleaning tools which you already probably have in your home anyway.

Start with preheating the grill on high for a few minutes. That way any food residue will be able to turn to ash.

Then make a soapy mixture with how water in a bucket, dip a sponge in there and start scrubbing the exterior of your grill. Once you are done rinse and dry with a microfiber towel.

Then open the lid and turn off the gas. Let the grill cool down completely then scrub the ash with your grill brush (dip it in the soapy water). Once you are done make sure you rinse and dry it completely.

Then I recommend you rub avocado oil with a towel on all sides of the grates which will protect them from rust.

Then remove the flavorizer bars and scrub them with the brush dipped in the soapy water.

Continue with scrubbing the burners and the metal reflectors.

The easiest way to clean foam earplugs

What is the best way to clean foam earplugs without wasting too much time? We all live very busy lives and we already spend enough time cleaning and maintaining our homes organized. That is exactly why we need are always searching for easy and quick ways to manage small cleaning tasks, and I can reassure you that your foam earplugs will need only 2 minutes of your time.

I have recently had a lot of problems with my sleep due to my loud neighbors and I thought that the best solution for my issue is to simply start sleeping with earplugs. It’s not ideal but I think no one has found an effective way to deal with loud neighbors, therefore, I had to be creative in order to save my sleep!

I remembered that I have an old pair of foam earplugs that I haven’t used in years but I knew they were in a terrible condition. I had previously dropped them in dirt multiple times and they had completely lost their appeal but since I was so desperate to save my sleep I had to be quick with the cleaning process.

I read that earplugs need to be disposed of once they are way too dirty, and I must admit – mine were more than just dirty, however, it was 3 in the morning and I couldn’t exactly go to the store and replace them so I had to find a way to make them work.

So how did I clean them?

I decided to do what my instincts were telling me – soak them in warm soapy water. I mean, it is probably the oldest trick in the cleaning book and it works for so many different things so I thought to myself: Why not?!

I simply filled a cup with warm water and put a couple of drops of liquid soap. I soaked them in the mixture and started rubbing them with my fingers so that I could remove the dirt faster.

And guess what? It worked! Once I was done I rinsed them to remove any excess soap and I let them air dry.

Long story short – I cleaned my earplugs and saved my sleep…

Of course, if the earplugs have a storage container than you need to clean it as well. I recommend refilling the cup you used with more warm soapy water and repeating the same steps to clean them as well – that’s what I used to clean mine.

Here is a step-by-step video of the cleaning process:
